Area IX is happy to provide three scholarships to help Area IX members attend the AGEHR National Directors' Seminar and the bi-annual Area IX Festival Conference. We also have information about the scholarship from AGEHR for the National Festival.

Kristopher Jon Anthony Memorial Scholarship
for the AGEHR National Seminar, Orlando, Florida
August 8-11, 2008

The Area IX Board is pleased to offer a $500 scholarship to the National Seminar in 2008. This seminar will feature classes and tracks for directors and ringers of all levels and abilites, as well as concerts by some of the top handbell performers. This scholarship may be used toward registration and other expenses associated with attending this event.

Eligibility Requirements

 (1) AGEHR (director or ringer) member in good standing;
 (2) Director of at least one handbell choir at time of application, and also following the seminar;
 (3) Area IX resident (Oklahoma or Texas);
 (4) This event must be your first National Seminar;
 (5) Past Anthony Scholarship recipients are ineligible;
 (6) Recipient is to write a short summary of his/her experience at the Seminar for the Area newsletter

Applications must have been postmarked no later than April 1, 2008.

The Marvin E. Reecher Memorial Scholarship
for the 2008 Area IX Festival/Conference, Austin, Texas
June 19-22, 2008

  This scholarship will cover the cost of one full-time registration fee. All other expenses (lodging, meals, transportation to and from the festival site, sightseeing, etc.) are the responsibility of the recipient.

 Eligibility Requirements

 (1) AGEHR member in good standing;
 (2) Director of at least one handbell choir at time of application, and also following the festival;
 (3) Area IX resident (Oklahoma or Texas);
 (4) Preference will be given to applicants for whom the 2008 Area IX Festival/Conference will be their first Festival
         Conference, however anyone may apply;
 (5) Recipient is to write a short summary of his/her experience at the at the Festival for the Area newsletter

The Mary Kay Parrish Scholarship
for the 2008 Area IX Festival/Conference, Austin, Texas

 (1) College/University student in Area IX (Oklahoma or Texas) currently enrolled in a handbell choir or handbell methods class ;
 (2) Recommended by collegiate handbell director;
 (3) Preference will be given to applicants for whom the 2008 Area IX Festival/Conference will be their first Festival Conference, however, anyone may apply;
 (4)Recipient is to write a short summary of his/her experience at the Festival for the Area newsletter

Applications must have been postmarked no later than April 1, 2008.
